We will look at two of the essential areas of any home namely, the entrance foyer and the formal living area in great detail so as to appreciate its vision and execution.
The Entrance Foyer is the first space of the house that welcomes you and your guests as soon as you step through the front door. It is the place where first impression is made. Therefore, it should be designed in such a way that it gives a sophisticated coziness. The right combination of different materials, colors and lighting creates a welcoming feel.
The main wall of the foyer (preferably the wall directly facing you as you walk through the door) should be secured for a mural, console or an oversized decorative wall bracket. The top of the console van be used to display sculptures, lamps, candles etc. Adding a mirror on the wall boosts the illusion of space. The décor of the foyer should complement the décor of other areas it is linked to.
The Formal Living area exudes sophistication and class. It is considered as the main highlight of the house because this is where the finest and most expensive possessions of the homeowners are showcased and displayed.
A delicate match of different materials and the right combination of colors enrich the visual impression of the formal living room.
Sofas, puffys, loungers, centre table, side tables make up the room furniture. The use of rich and heavy trimmed furnishings and draperies gives a vibrant and classy look. Bright and vivid colors accentuate the components and make the place look interesting and unique.
Walls rendered in subtle hues focus attention firmly on the luxurious materials used in the room. Textured, glazed and marbleized walls are an excellent choice. Wallpapers extend the visual impression of the space and make the space look stunning. Flooring can be done in wood or Italian marble to achieve a rich feel.
Paintings and fine prints bring life to the space. A life size statue takes on a luxurious appearance in the room. Accessories like bowls, vases, lamps, picture frames and statement pieces with textured finishes and sparkling detail give a glamorous touch and create an instant focal point.
